Every year, the Region of Nyon, the City of Nyon and the Town of Gland jointly organise the Mérites sportifs régionaux (regional sports awards) to reward individuals who have contributed to the development of regional sport.

The aim of the Mérites sportifs régionaux is to reward and encourage sportsmen and women from the communes of the Nyon Region, either individually or as part of a team, as well as personalities and volunteers who have distinguished themselves in their field by their contribution to the regional sporting dynamic or to the influence of their discipline.
