Mermigans v Valkyries

Ce fut une guerre d’usure entre deux équipes qui cherchaient leur première victoire de la saison en LNFA. Samedi dernier dans la campagne vaudoise, sur un terrain détrempé ou sous un ciel tout aussi mouillé, l’entente Mermigans—comprenant les joueuses des clubs de Nyon (les Mermaids), de Palézieux et de Monthey—a dû lutter jusqu’à la dernière minute contre GC Zurich Valkyries.

Ce sont les défenses qu’ont su dominer la rencontre avec qu’un essai par équipe jusqu’à quelques minutes de la fin. Aucune des équipes ne voulaient céder du terrain. C’est la mêlée qui a enfin fait la différence. Les avants Mermigans ont poussé le pack zurichois dans leurs dernières retranchées et elles ont enfin plié. Dans la dernière minute de jeu, avec l’avantage donné et une pénalité en main, la mêlée à traverser la ligne pour sceller la victoire ave 12 à 11.

Après trois matches, les Mermigans se retrouvent en troisième place avec 6 points. Le prochain match aura lieu le samedi 15 octobre à 13h00 au Stade de l’Athenaz à Avusy contre l’Entente CERN/Avusy.
